Easter...a little late

This Easter we visited Chris' parents in Nevada for the weekend. Once we FINALLY got packed up on Good Friday, we headed up the mountain. And guess what? We needed chains! We had to stop and buy some, and then stop on the side of the road to install them. Natalie was beside herself with excitement over the SNOW. She had never been in real falling snow before!Chris wanted to install the chains in the falling snow...but it was his first time and after a few frustrating attempts, we decided to let one of "the guys" help us...and give him a lesson for next time!We got to Grammie & Grandpa's pretty late. The next morning they checked everything out. Jacob set up camp by the front window, where he could watch any cars that might go by.Grammie & Sydney spent some time hanging out...drawing faces and houses, talking about colors, and reading a bookNatalie, of course, was overjoyed by the two beagles, Sammy & Toby. Here she is playing with Sammy. :)Grammie & Grandpa set up an Easter egg station in their kitchen and we let the kids dye some eggs. Sydney was of the belief that every single egg needed to be tinted green.Saturday night we went to the Easter vigil. Grammie curled Natalie's hair and she was all smiles over it. We couldn't have the girls in little dresses - it was cold! So we did our best with jeans and warmer shirts and sweaters. Unfortunately, the Mass was almost completely in Spanish...Chris' mom kindly got a few shots of me with the girls before we left. I don't have many of these, since I'm usually behind the camera!Me and Miss Natalie, with Sydney in the background...always wanting to go outside! We also got a few of all three kids. After a few pictures, Sydney rested her head on Jacob's shoulder. It was so cute that we had Natalie do the same thing. :)Smiles didn't last for long, though!Easter morning! Here is Jacob's basket. The Consumer Reports is a car issue. He is very interested in vehicles right now, and likes to look at car magazines! Sydney checks out her card from Grammie & Grandpa.Time for an egg hunt! Sydney got a little tired waiting for everybody to get ready, so she rested up on Daddy's knee.I see one!!! She just wants to run! I didn't get a picture of Jacob because right after I took this shot he was a little naughty and I had to take him inside. He found an egg and stomped it (apparently he wanted to blow bubbles instead) and then hit me when I told him no. So much for the egg hunt!Getting ready for dinner! After our delicious dinner, Grammie got out the carrot cake. Jacob never misses cake, and he made very sure that Grammie was doing a good job with her preparations.Sydney ate carrot cake! She doesn't eat much these days...as picky as Jacob, almost...so this was good. Monday morning we were headed back home. THIS is what we woke up to. That's our car. Yikes! We let the kids have some fun in the backyard while the snow melted a bit...the storm was on its way out and by the time we left we didn't even need chains!

Happy Easter!
He is Risen!!!
