The night before, our babysitter came over to help me and she blew up balloons with the kids. Lots of fun!
After the kids were in bed, I worked on Natalie's dinosaur cake. It was made using two 9" cake rounds, and starts off like the picture below. It was difficult to frost because of the day's heat...80 degrees in the house that night! I had to keep putting it back in the refrigerator to harden. Natalie was READY to go on the morning of her birthday, and had a tough time waiting until it was time to go to Chuck E Cheese for her party!! Her party was at lunchtime, though, so it wasn't TOO long to wait. Here she is on the drive over, anxious and soooo excited!
We got there first, and then family quickly arrived. Grandparents had driven hours to be there for Natalie's special day! Here's Oma saying hello to Sydney.
First the kids got piles of tokens and time to play. Natalie stuck with her Uncle Eric...here they are on the big monster truck car. Uncle Eric is telling her there is something wrong with it...maybe they will crash! She never knows whether to believe him or not and is looking a little worried!
After lots of playing, it was time for PIZZA!
And then chocolate cake. Even Jacob ate that! Chuck E Cheese came out to celebrate with Natalie. He even gave her a crown and a medal!
Jacob also enjoyed climbing through all the tunnels and then sliding down! When the party was over, we went back home and our families came back with us to celebrate a little more. We ate some more, and then sang Happy Birthday to Natalie. After that, Grandpa and Daddy sneaked a silly-string attack on the birthday girl!!
