Today is our first rainy day of the fall season...it has been met with lots of excitement from the kids!
Jacob worked in therapy this morning mostly to be able to go sit on his yellow tree swing in the front yard. Even with the wind and rain in his face, he was grinning.
Natalie got to actually use her size-10 hand-me-down boots from my friend Leslie this morning, too. Leslie gave them to us years ago and Natalie has used them for play...but they are finally the right size AND it's the right weather. She also got to use her Mickey Mouse umbrella from Grammie and Grandpa. She ran around in the backyard, stomping in puddles and testing her umbrella. What a smile! She kept running up to the sliding glass door yelling "Did you see me, mommy? Did you see me?"
We took Jacob to kindergarten today - he had all last week off, and didn't go yesterday because of his cold, so it was the first day in awhile. He was amused that we were going in the rain, Natalie was THRILLED, and Sydney wasn't sure of it. Especially since the hood on her windbreaker kept blowing off. I learned some lessons about what type of rain gear we are going to need to get Jacob to and from school this year. We are definitely not adequately equipped! But it was a fun, if wet, adventure.
Now Natalie is asleep on the sofa...she doesn't take many naps anymore so it's a little treat for Mom. Sydney just went down and I am about to go get some cleaning done...as long as Natalie STAYS asleep!
