Halloween

Here are some pictures from our Halloween! It was a hectic day, as we had just found out that we are going to have an appraisal of our home done shortly. We had a lot of planning to do for that, as well as Jacob's birthday on Monday. But we tried to squeeze in some Halloween fun too!

Here's Sydney in her little red & white striped tights, which were sooo cute. She was a rag doll.Chris and I got the front yard ready with some decorations.

They're a little tough to see in the picture, but we had tiny hanging ghosts in the trees. Natalie and her babysitter Jenn made them while we were getting everything else ready. They were so cute!

Here's Chris out in front of the house. We put out decorations and he lit the pumpkins we had carved that afternoon.We let Jacob color on a pumpkin and he spent so much time on a very intricate drawing. It's hard to see here, but the top left looks a lot like a woman in a dress. Anyway, he'd squint his eyes and take a step back to look at what he'd done. Then he'd go draw for a moment. Then step back again to observe. It was neat to watch him work on it!

Here are Sydney, Natalie & Jacob...the best group shot we could get! ;)

Our boxer. It was tough to get him to let me put the black eye on him with some makeup. I had to make one on myself first to show him, and then he let me. He didn't like it, but he made it through!

We got some little plastic pumpkins with lights inside that changed color. Sydney wouldn't leave them alone!

We drove a couple miles to a neighborhood with more homes participating. It was pretty spooky! At one home, a "real witch" answered the door and Natalie hung back. She was worried we might get a curse put on us. Here she is in the car afterwards, checking out her loot.

We came back home because that had been enough for Jacob & Sydney. Natalie was still eager to go out, so Chris visited a few more houses with her while I got the other two ready for bed. The night turned out pretty well...no major meltdowns, the costumes stayed on, and there were smiles!
