Sydney's therapy update

Sydney is making such progress in her new therapy program, and she's only just started. I am so proud of her! She has been working hard. It has been a lot for her to get used to...she is now working about 25 hours a week in ABA therapy, and then she also has one hour a week each of feeding, speech and occupational therapies. Whew!

In ABA, they are mostly playing with her right now to build up rapport and to generalize her skills as she gains them. They are working a lot on "manding" - making her request things using a full sentence. She has not been a fan of this and prefers to just say "want juice" rather than "can I have some juice?" So there have been some screaming fits. But we are hearing lots more language from her in her off hours, and the practice is definitely paying off!

Here are a few pictures from the last week or so of therapy.

Pretending to sleep...

Working on scissor skills with her occupational therapist...this week she was opening the scissors up for the first time!

Wheelbarrows. This is actually me holding her, but it was during therapy time. See that big bruise on my arm? Bite from Jacob. Sigh.
Jumping!!!
