Ouch

I'm posting some old pics...this is from Jan 28. I was putting Sydney to bed and holding her tummy down, when she sort of leapt out of my arms into her bed. She has a headboard right behind her pillow and when she landed, she overshot her pillow and hit the edge of the board right between her eyes. Poor girl! It was one of those sickening whacks that moms dread to hear.

Because it was dark in her room I couldn't tell right away what she had done, but she was crying so hard, I knew it was a bad one. I got her into the living room and saw that it was purple between her eyes, with a big cut. And it was swelling way up. Chris was worried her nose was broken and thought maybe we should take her to the emergency room.

In typical Sydney fashion, though, this is what she looked like probably 10 minutes after she hit it. It MUST have been hurting, but she was laughing and singing and smiling. The girl is such a trooper, always has been.
