St Francis

On Monday we celebrated St. Francis' feast day with some animal activities! We went to the feed store in the morning...the kids all loved the baby chicks there. We also looked at the fish, birds, mice, and rats. Natalie wanted her own baby chick so badly! And Jacob was laughing about the peeping sounds the chicks made.

We bought some birdseed mix at the feed store and when we came home, we made some birdseed treats. Jacob & Natalie each mixed up their own bowl of the dough and both thought it was pretty exciting that they got to mix an egg in - shell and all. In the evening, after they were baked and had ribbons on them, Natalie and her babysitter Amanda tied them up in the trees....or threw them on the roof!

Later in the afternoon, Amanda took Jacob and Natalie over to the pumpkin patch near our house with a little petting zoo. They had a lot of fun...apparently Jacob spent a good 15 minutes with the pigs, and he was trying to make the birds "talk" more (there were some which honked and he kept telling them "More honk!")!

Here is our birdtreat mixture, and Natalie's cheesy pose... ;0)
