WOW What a great day!

That was the title at the top of Jacob's "daily home log" for today! His home log is sent home from preschool each time he goes, and tells me all about his day. His IA, Jessica, fills it out.

The high points from school today:
  • When Jacob got to school, he ran around on the grass with his peers (they were waiting to be let in to the class) and laughed with them
  • When his teacher called his name for him to come up and do his job for the day, he stood up and walked to her without any prompting from his IA
  • On the playground, he waited in line to go across the monkey bars, and independently asked his teacher for help
  • Sang ABC's with his friends
  • Independently told Jessica, "I see a horse" (wow!) and she noted that he was very interactive with her today.
  • His job in class today was the "soap person" - meaning he got to squirt the soap in each kid's hand when they were washing up. This sounds like Jacob's dream job. Anyway, his log says he did, "an amazing job waiting for his friends to put their hand under the soap before he squirts it! He likes the job and gets a big smile when he gets to do it.

When he got home, he wanted me to go snuggle in bed with him for a few minutes, and asked for "kisses."

Yeah Jacob! Guess it was a great day! :)

Isn't it amazing how those glimpses of independance or socialization are so joyous?!?!? That sounds like an AWESOME day!!!
