We found out last week that the school Jacob attends for preschool (it is also a regular elementary school facility) will be closing in August for renovations and will likely be closed for the year. We want him to repeat preschool next year (he turns 5 in November) so that means we have to find a new facility for him to attend.
We have had him in a Head Start preschool because they have been most willing to work with our needs in terms of having our own aide with him and letting him be pulled aside during different times to do regular drills. They are also very structured, which he needs. They really have been wonderful. We lucked out in that Head Start classes usually are supposed to have a small percentage of kids in them with special needs, regardless of income.
So this afternoon while he's in class, the girls and I will be meeting his program supervisor and the regional trainer at a couple of possible facilities. One of them has four different classrooms for us to check out, while the other is a smaller, single classroom. I am sure (well, fairly sure!) we can find a good one with that many to choose from.
Right now the plan is to have him start going 4 afternoons a week (he currently attends 3 afternoons) after their 4th of July break. Then he'll probably start at the new school in late July or early August. And in the fall we hope to move him up to 5 afternoons a week.
He really is growing up!!

That's great that the Head Start preschools will work with him - we didn't have any luck with that, probably due to the number of people around here who wanted to get in.
Good luck finding the right place for him for the next year!
