A quick rundown of our past week...some pictures to come!
- I did lots of baking with the kids before Christmas - lots of fun! But I think now I need a treadmill.
- We unfortunately spent Christmas Eve day running around picking up last minute things, which is not how I wanted to spend that day. I had planned homemade lasagna but it wasn't done until late in the evening so we ended up with frozen pizza eaten on the couch for our Christmas Eve dinner. It did make a great lunch the next day, though! Lessons learned for next year...
- Got to bed around 3:30 am...
- Natalie was first up on Christmas morning, and was instantly in love with the big stuffed unicorn (about the same size as her) Santa had left out for her. She patiently played with "Twinkie" until Chris woke up and she got to go through her stocking. Jacob & Sydney woke up and they all got to open their stockings. Sydney enjoyed playing with her new musical toys and Jacob went to work on a Cars sticker puzzle.
- We went to church and then came home to open gifts and eat lasagna. Then we started getting ready for our trip to my parents' house - a 140 mile drive from our house.
- On Friday we headed to my parents'. My sister Christina was there from Florida with her husband Dirk and little son Thomas, so that was a treat! My brother Eric was also there, and my brother Marc and his wife Christine came down for dinner on Saturday. Natalie kept EVERYONE busy. On Saturday she went non-stop from 7:30 am until she finally passed out at 10:30 that night.
- Miraculously, I was able to see my friend Jen and meet her little guy Nathan (one of the most adorable children on the planet...I almost had to steal him!), and my friend Leslie made the trek from her house (almost an hour away) with a migraine to see me. It was SOOO nice to see them! Natalie and Leslie are now pledged pen pals...
- We made it home late Sunday night after an adventurous drive home. It included a long stop at Marie Callender's where Jacob finally decided to poop after not going for days and days. Just picture the diner's faces as Chris raced through the restaurant with Jacob and the potty seat cover in tow. And then Jacob insisted on taking off ALL his clothes in the bathroom and for Chris to wait outside the stall. So there is Chris, waiting outside the stall, with all of Jacob's clothes. Ha!
- When we got home, Chris just wanted a few minutes to put his feet up and watch tv. But guess what? IT WOULDN'T TURN ON!!! That's right, our television, purchased about a year and a half ago, had died while we were gone. AAAAAAAAAck!
- So Chris unfortunately spent his day off, Monday, running around looking at televisions and wall mounts and trying to figure out how to pay for everything. But we did get it all taken care of and now have a beautiful wall mounted plasma television. I am so relieved it is mounted high up so that Jacob can't run into it and push or pull it over on to himself. And Chris got to watch his first Netflix movie last night!

Merry Christmas too you guys too! Love the new banner pic! We got Netflix last week and my husband has been going CRAZY especially with the streaming from the internet on his new laptop! What a bummer about your tv...I had visions of coming home to flooded floors or something, thank heavens it was alright! BUt a new tv is definitely fun!
